Welcome to the homepage of the voice studio at the University of Tennessee at Martin. The University of Tennessee at Martin offers Bachelor of Music degree (BM) in Music Education and Performance/Pedagogy as well as Bachelor of Arts in Music degree (BA) for vocal majors. All BM voice majors at UTM recieve weekly one-hour vocal instruction, while BA voice majors receive weekly half hour lesson. (Starting Fall 2008, all BAs in Music degree at UTM will recieve weekly hour lesson.) For more resources and information about being a voice major at UTM, please click on Studio Voice.
Besides having the opportunity to perform in the vocal studio class and recital hour, all voice students can also perform in our Lyric Opera Theatre and our two choral ensembles (The University Singers and The The New Pacer Singers). In addition, students are required to perform publicly in our departmental events. Students who are pursing the BM degree are required to perform a senior recital.
If you are interested in specializing vocal studies and would like to learn more about our vocal program, please fill out a contact form under Prospective Students.
