How to: View Quarantined Email through "Forefront Online Protection for Exchange" (FOPE)

The University of Tennessee at Martin now features SPAM filtering through Microsoft's Forefront Online Protection for Exchange (aka FOPE). To access the webpage to view and manage quarantined email blocked by FOPE, simply visit http://quarantine.messaging.microsoft.com/ or follow the link from an Quarantine

Step 1: You may have already received a Spam Quarantine Notification email (See below for example). If so, simply follow any of the links to go to the FOPE login page. If not, you can simple enter the following address into your web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari...) or simply click on the link here: http://quarantine.messaging.microsoft.com/

Step 2: Once you are faced with the Forefront Online Protection for Exchange website for the first time, click the link that is labeled "Need your password?" in order to recieve your password for future logins.

 

Step 3: Next enter your UTM Email address (this will not work with @ut.utm.edu addresses) and click on the "Send" button.

 

Step 4: You will recieve an email from "exmailer@microsoft.com" with a link to click on to create your password. Click on the link and it will open up the Password creation web page.

 

Step 5: Create your password

 

 

Step 6: You may now login to the website using your UTM email address and the password that you created.Through the Forefront Online Protection for Exchange webpage, you will be able to manage & and retrieve email that was quarantined as SPAM.

NOTE: The UTM Computer Support Staff cannot retrieve your password, you will need to keep up with it or follow this procedure again to create a new password.
