Curriculum Changes

Several initiatives are underway to accomplish internationalization of the business curriculum:

*Integrate globalization, international topics, and the impact of demographic diversity into existing curricula.  Develop new courses as needed.  Stipends of $500 each plus fringe benefits will be provided to five faculty members who undertake these tasks, supported by sponsored workshops.

*Develop and implement a Global Finance Concentration.

*Develop and implement the International Business Scholars Program (IBSP).

*Expand the CBPA Internship Program to offer a minimum of 130 internship-hours per year with businesses interested in developing export/import-related enterprises.

*Revise and improve the International Business Concentration; specifically, consider adding a foreign language requirement and a travel study/study abroad component.

*Heavily emphasize increased awareness of and participation in travel study/study abroad initiatives.

*Increase aware of and participation in the Summer Immersion Programs, which currently send students to the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi, the University of Alicante in Spain, and the University of Guanajuato in Mexico.  Expand to include the Technical University of Braunschweig in Germany.  Develop a "NAFTA Studies" component with Canadian and Mexican partners.

*Broaden the existing Emerging Market Banker Internship Program and the Brazilian Professional Education Program to include public forums and classroom discussions with students and business leaders.
