Interns in High Places. . .

You could find UTM students walking the halls of power in Nashville and in DC last spring!  WALKER FERRELL  is seen here with former Attorney General Edwin Meese during his internship with the prestigious think tank The Heritage Foundation, while WENDY ELLIOTT is pictured below with Hillary Rodham Clinton at a rally in Nashville.  Wendy interned with state Rep. Mark Maddox, along with JJESSICA McKINNEY (Speaker Naifeh's office) and RILEY PACE (Rep. Phil Pinion's office, during his last session in the House).  JOSH RAINEY also served as an intern in Rep. John Tanner's D.C. office.  Congrats and "great job" to all of UTM's power brokers!

. . . and more on the way!

  • Congrats to JESSICA McKINNEY and KASEY WASHBURN, who have been accepted for intern positions in Sen. Lamar Alexander's D.C. office during the Fall 2008 semester.
  • Applications for the Tennessee Legislative Internship Program should be available in early September; keep watching here for details.
  • NOTE:  If I've left out any interns, please let me know!! cbaxter@utm.edu

The Poli Sci Club lives!

A group of motivated UTM political science majors have revived the UTM Political Science Club, and they are ready to hit the ground running in Fall '08.  For details, contact Pres. John Johnson or check out the Club's group page on Facebook.
