The presenter will discuss some of the barriers and hardships the African American golfer had to overcome in order to participate in golf. African American pioneers in golf, the "caucasian-only clause", the 1990 Shoal Creek controversy and its impact on golf,and recent steps taken to increase the inclusion of minorities in golf will be discussed.
