This page contains links to literature which is often hard to classify. The first category is didactic literature. Though, in a sense much literature can serve some didactic purpose , I am referring to literature whose accepted role was teaching a moral or scientific lesson. The second group is vernacular historical literature, much of which is referred to as chronicles. The third category potentially contains all classes of literature and is bound together only by its language: Latin; that is , Latin written in what we know as the current geographical limits of France. It is important not to forget that in a world where one language was the lingua franca of academia and of one of two dominant social classes, we may expect some important literary expression in that language. These three collections consist of over 110 links.
