I am in the beginning stages of pursuing a doctoral degree in Education with an emphasis in Special Education. As of May 2008, I have not published any material. However, I find great pleasure in reading and collecting data relating to Special Education.

My primary focus is reading information (statistics, journal articles, and proven research) relating to "The Overpopulation of African American Males in Special Education." To understand how this has happen, I must review theories (breadth) in education, study the usage of theories (depth) in public education, then assess the success and/or failures of application.

The final step is evaluating the success of educational systems for African American males who require special education services in rural and urban areas. My goal is to advocate for educational programs to implement social change that will allow more African American males to be educated and live prosperous and productive adult lives making a positive influence in the community.
