I am currently collecting data and extent research that supports "The Overpopulation of African American Males in Special Education". If you have conducted research in this area and willing to share your findings, please share where I can retrieve the information for review. You are also welcome to send a copy of the document to me as an email attachment.
Prior to pursuing my doctoral degree, I taught in the area of secondary education for five years. I have taught special education in the following areas - self-contained classroom settings, academic resource (Math and Science) and work-base learning. While teaching special education, I confidentally inspired children from diverse populations to embrace dreams and opportunities outside of their current living conditions and situations. I truly believe in taking the child and the parent where they are and extending opportunities and information that will lead to a brighter future.
I have also enjoyed working in corporate America where I performed duties that include recruiting entry to corporate level employees for a major corporation.
Last but not least, I served in the United States Marine Corps active duty for nearly six years. Whatever and whenever, I live to be inspired while also serving as an inspiration to others. I truly believe that "iron sharpens iron".
Again, if you have data to contribute to the research study I am pursuing, I invite you to share.
