Every year this foundation awards 75 scholarships to young Americans age 18-24 (one UTM graduate, Ms. Elizabeth Craig, received this award for the 2005-2006 academic year). This scholarship allows recipients to live and work in Germany in their field of choice. A young person who is interested in, say, sports medicine might do an internship with a sports team or sports clinic in Germany . This generous scholarship includes travel to and from Germany , the cost of tuition for an intensive German summer school, health insurance, host family compensation, and a monthly stipend, among other benefits. This scholarship is competitive and applications are usually due near the beginning of September. Note: a similar scholarship is available for high school students as well (see http://www.usagermanyscholarship.org).

The Sprachenzentrum offers intensive 3- and 6-week summer courses in German language and culture for students of all levels (and from all over the world!). UTM students receive full credit for courses completed at the Sprachenzentrum . In addition, because UTM maintains an official partnership with TU-Braunschweig, tuition costs are waived for our students. Finally, the Center offers weekend excursions to the cities of Berlin and Hamburg that are as educational as they are entertaining!
