To communicate to agricultural producers
and leaders, within and around Tennessee, the realization that agricultural
diversification holds great promise for supplementing income, thereby
contributing to the stability of our economy and way of life.
To expose Tennessee and surrounding agricultural
producers and other rural residents to a wide array of income-producing
ideas and markets in an effort to help them see new and alternative
possibilities in production, processing, and merchandising.
To provide a network of information, assistance
providers and people who are engaged in alternate activities in an effort
to accelerate acceptance of innovative opportunities and to support
those who have begun new enterprises.
To communicate the implications of these
alternatives to community development leaders, lenders, donors, educators,
policy makers, and others who support and understanding is helpful and
necessary.
To create an awareness of agripreneurial
(i.e., agricultural enterprise) opportunities among current and future
agricultural leaders.
