NIDRR - National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research

"NIDRR provides leadership and support for a comprehensive program of research related to the rehabilitation of individuals with disabilities." Information on current research projects and publications can be obtained from this page as well as a linked listing of a dozen important web resources.


National Rehabilitation Information Center
Funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), the NARIC has served those interested in disability and rehabilitation for over twenty years by disseminating information on federally funded research projects. "NARIC's literature collection, which also includes commercially published books, journal articles, and audiovisuals, averages around 200 new documents per month.


RSA - Rehabilitation Services Administration
The Rehabilitation Services Administration oversees programs that help individuals with physical or mental disabilities to obtain employment through the provision of such supports as counseling, medical and psychological services, job training, and other individualized services. This web page provides information on the organization of the RSA and its grant program which provides funds to state vocational rehabilitation agencies to provide employment-related services for individuals with disabilities.


Trace Research & Development Center
The University of Wisconsins Trace Center does research on adaptive technology. Design guidelines for web access for persons with disabilities is in the section titled "Designing a More Usable World". Ongoing research is in "New and Highlighted Items". In addition, there is a "Cooperative Electronic Library" and a "Publications & Media Catalog".
