Introduction to Regional Geography:
Africa, Asia, and Latin America
3 credit hours
Prerequisites: None
GEOG 152 is an integrated study of the cultural, economic, political, and physical aspects of countries and regions within Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

- The Less Developed World
- Latin America: Major Geographic Characteristics
- Latin America: Environmental Diversity & Processes
- Latin America: Tropical Deforestation
- Africa: Major Geographic Characteristics
- Africa: The Legacies of Colonialism
- Africa: Energy and Politics -
Gabon and Equatorial Guinea - Southwest & Central Asia: Major Geographic Characteristics
- Southwest & Central Asia: The Transformation of Dubai
- Southwest & Central Asia: Palestine / Israel
- South Asia: Major Geographic Characteristics
- South Asia: Monsoons and Agriculture
- East Asia: Major Geographic Characteristics
- East Asia: Is China an Emerging “Superpower” ?
Other topics may also be presented.
Students are evaluated through four exams, four map quizzes, and several assignments.
Readings are assigned throughout the semester.
