Virtualization

I have been using the VMware Fusion Beta since its first release. Most everyone else around here jumped on the Parallels band wagon. Rather than spending money on Parallels, I decided to give the Fusion product a trial run on my new Mac Pro tower.

Since I started using VMware's ESX and related technologies, my normal workflow has changed tremendously. No longer do I spend lots of time deploying new hardware and OS combinations to take care of singular tasks. I now deploy customized installations of OS and application stacks to perform those singular tasks on a common hardware platform. I am now less vulnerable to a single point of hardware failure. I can get more things done more quickly.
