731-587-7223 Dr. Evans is Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education at The University of Tennessee at Martin. She received a B. A. degree in Psychology from Wheaton College (Norton, Massachusetts) and the Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Evans has extensive experience working with young children in a variety of settings. She has served as an early childhood consultant and trainer for federal, state, and local agencies. Dr. Evans' research focuses on the teacher's role in helping young children develop social competence; the role and impact of parents in their children's education; accommodating diversity in early education settings.
