Why French? I stumbled into French accidentally, in the course of taking the required foreign language sequence. Professors Peckham and Florido encouraged me to keep going, and I loved the challenge of 342 (even the Schaum's, sometimes). I stayed in French for the people, who truly made our program one of the huddled den gems on campus.
