Description: Concepts of computer systems and procedures including software applications, input and output, data storage, communications and networks, Internet and World Wide Web, and operating systems and system software. Emphasis on using integrated software tools on the microcomputer which include word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation graphics, communications, web browsers, electronic mail, personal information management, and multimedia authoring. Credit does not apply to computer science minor requirements.
Credit Hours: 3
Pre or Co-Requisites: None.

General Course Objectives, Student Outcomes:
The student will:

Policies (Grading, etc)
1 mid-term test (fill-in-the-blank, 100 points)
1 final exam (comprehensive, fill-in-the-blank, 200 points)
Attendance is required for tests. No exemption from exam.
SAM 2013 (100 points each): #1,2 for Word, #1,2,3 for Excel, #1 for PowerPoint, #1,2,3 for Access
Other (50 points each, turn in on BlackBoard): UPC Bar Code, Security Video Summary, PPT Videos Summary
Assignments may be re-submitted up to the maximum allowable attempts, up to the due date/time. Highest attempt counts.
Late assignments are not accepted. Complete them early enough to avoid any last-minute issues.
Please be aware that the SAM 2013 system tracks the origin of submitted documents.
Submissions flagged as violations are not accepted.
