The Special Education Institute
is funded by a grant provided by the Tennessee Department of Education.
The purpose of the Institute is to provide coursework for teachers who are
teaching special education in the P-12 schools on a waiver or permit. It
also provides training and professional development for teachers in the
P-12 schools who teach students with disabilities in their general education
classrooms. For those applicants accepted, tuition and fees are paid by
grant funds. Courses are offered during the summer on the UTM campus and
online during the fall and spring (pending availability of funds after the
summer; free tuition to waiver and permit teachers only for online courses). |
