2008 UTM Honor Choir Festival

This page is for high school choral directors who are interested in sending students to this choral festival. The links provided will allow you to register for the event online as well as submit student nominations for the two ensembles at the festival rather than mailing in the forms. Hopefully, this will simplify the process for you. You may, of course, print off the registration forms from this page and mail them in along with your payment. It is up to you!
REGISTRATION DUE December 7, 2007 (checks may come in later - just call Mark Simmons at 731-881-7412). THIS DUE DATE TAKES THE PLACE OF ANY OTHER PUBLISHED DATE.
There will again be two ensembles this year. Both of them will be mixed with the difference being the size of each choir. The singers for both of the following groups must be NOMINATED by their high school choir director. Nomination to a specific choir does not guarantee participation in that choir. Ultimate decisions regarding membership in either of the two choirs in the festival are made by the director of the festival. High school directors will receive confirmation regarding which ensembles students are assigned to within one week of submitting the registration form. The cost to the students for registration as well as the music packets of both ensembles is the same.
The Festival Choir will have an unlimited number of singers and will perform music intended for large major ensembles. All of the singers will be expected to know their music before coming to the festival.
The Honor Choir will be a select choir with limited membership and will perform more challenging chamber music intended for smaller ensembles. Only 8 singers from each school attending may be nominated to participate in this ensemble. Nomination does not guarantee participation in this ensemble. All singers selected for this choir MUST come to the festival completely prepared.
