mahmoud-haddad Dr. Haddad is a professor of Finance at the college of Business and Public Affairs, the University of Tennessee at Martin. He received a BA and MBA in Accounting from Minnesota State University, and Ph.D. in Finance from the School of Business at The University of Alabama. He taught finance theory, options and futures theory and applications, risk management, international finance, investments, financial institutions and markets, corporate finance, economics, accounting and statistics, at Wayne State University, The University of Tennessee at Martin, University of Alabama, Arab American University-Jenin, American University of Armenia, American University of Beirut, Eastern Michigan University and Minnesota State University.

Dr. Haddad is certified in e-teaching and learning, Mahmoud has been involved with distance and online teaching since 1994 at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Mahmoud has participated in numerous curriculum development projects that were essential in meet the needs of our students and to improve the quality of the college curriculum.

Dr. Haddad has published over 30 papers in corporate finance, portfolio management, risk measurement and management, international finance and futures and options. His papers have been published in leading refereed journals. Dr. Haddad has presented at and participated in numerous national and international professional business conferences.

Dr. Haddad has broad consultation, managerial and practical experience that includes familiarity with proper staffing techniques, interfacing with all levels of management, and prioritizing national and international banking and investments. Dr. Haddad was the Financial and Accounting Manager at the American Family Insurance Co., the Executive Director of Research at the Palestinian Monetary Authority, the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Dean of College of Business and Financial Sciences at Arab American University and a Research Scholar and Head of Economic and Social Studies Division at the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research. Member of the advisory board, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization –ACQM, Dubai, United Arab of Emirates. Dr. Haddad is a Senior Associate Consultant at the William Davidson Institute (WDI), he worked on various USAID educational projects, www.wdi.umich.edu;

He has received numerous honors, awards and grants for his research and teaching, including the Excellence in research Award, 1997 & 2010, Excellent in Graduate Teaching, 2002, 2005 & 2011 and the Bob Figgins Award for Outstanding Student Service 2011 From the University of Tennessee at Martin, and numerous International Travel Awards for outstanding contributions in International Finance and Business research. Dr. Haddad is listed in Who’s Who in American Education and in who’s who in America’s Teachers. He serves as a Review Board Member for the Journal of Business and Economic perspectives and is the Co-Director of the Tennessee Valley Authority Investment Program. Dr. Haddad is the University of Tennessee at Martin Featured Scholar for the 1998-1999 academic years, and the 1999 Students Government Association Outstanding Faculty Member. Dr. Haddad is a Research Fellow at the Economic Research Forum (ERF) and Vic President of the Organization of Arab Academic Leaders for the Advancement of Business and Economic Knowledge (OAALABEK).
