The faculty senate at ETSU recently did a survey of their faculty and the results were interesting and may actually drive future decisions. I have asked their FS President to forward me a copy of the survey so we may adapt it for our campus. I am not sure of all the questions they asked, but a few I have are these:
Here are some questions I have regarding the way things are for faculty/academics at UTM.
Is our teaching load at the right level?
Are our class sizes growing and have they become too large?
Is our Gen Ed comprised of the courses our students most need?
Do we have enough time to read sufficiently to stay current in our fields?
Do we have too much committee work or too little?
Are we largely happy with our jobs at UTM?
