Faculty Senate Survey

After discussing it with former UTM Faculty-Senate Presidents and checking around to see what other Universities have done, I decided to create a simple survey to get your thoughts on how our Faculty Senate might do a better job in its role as a partner to the administration in shared governance. The link below will take you to the survey and you will find only two questions there: (1) how many years have you been on the faculty senate and (2) an open-ended question asking you to offer suggestions for improvement for the Faculty Senate. That is the entire survey! Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts on how the senate can improve. If you have compliments for the senate, that is fine too, but we are particularly interested in ways you think we might improve what we do. Your suggestions can be for how particular committees do their job, how faculty senate meetings are run, items that come up for discussion in the faculty senate, communication between senators and those they represent and others of which you may think. You do not have to have been on the faculty senate before to offer an opinion, since you may simply have strong opinions regarding how any such body should operate.
Thanks for taking time to respond.
