| CONSTITUTION OF THE PHILOSOPHY FORUM |
The name of the organization shall be called "The Philosophy Forum"of the University of Tennessee at Martin
Open to everyone.
Section 1. The Philosophy Forum shall elect the following officers: Director And Co-Director
Section 2. The specific duties of the officers shall be
A. Director
(1) Shall preside over all meetings
(2) Shall call all special meetings and decide on all points of order
(3) Shall appoint all officers and committees not otherwise provided for in this constitution
B. Co-Director
(1) Shall assume responsibilities of the Director in his/her absence
(2) Shall serve as chairperson of major committees
Section 1. Regular meetings shall be held bi-weekly during the regular term of the University of Tennessee at Martin
Section 2. Special meetings may be called at any time by the Director
Section 3. Two-thirds of all the active members constitute a quorum
Section 4. On all questions of procedure, Robert's Rules of Order shall be the guide except where conflicting with these bylaws
No dues.
Faculty sponsors shall be voted upon by the majority of activemembers present at a regular meeting in first meeting of the FallSemester.
Philosophy Forum shall not discriminate on the basis of race, sex,color, religion, national origin, age, handicap or veteran status.
In the event that this organization becomes inactive or defunct, allmoney in the treasury will be given to Alumni Organization/RedCross.
All officers shall be elected three weeks before the Spring semesterends. The officers shall be elected by secret ballot. A simplemajority will be required for elections.
In the event of a vacancy in any of the offices, an election will beheld within 10 days to select a replacement.
