I've been at the University of Tennessee since 1992.  I began here working for the Computer Center in the early years of UTM's networking.  These were the times of a PDP1170 connected to serial muxes and users running Kermit in a DOS screen.  My job was to provide new connections to offices, figure out how students workers had done the previous connections, and to document and maintain those.  Along came ethernet and fiber on campus and I installed or oversaw the installation of most of that.  In 2002 the job of managing the Campus Telephone System came open and I changed positions, and Rick Gonzalez took over Cable Plant.  Now we're all under the blanket department of Telecommunications.
