Networking was the name of the game for the NCW celebration for the Kentucky Lake Section of the American Chemical Society.
It involved the Governor of the state of Tennessee, mayors of Martin and Jackson, a University Nursing department, Community Wellness Center, SAACS, public at large including students and faculty from primary, elementary, junior high, and high schools and colleges, Girl Scouts and Brownies from five troops, six local sections of ACS in Tennessee.
NCW coordinators from across the state and several student affiliates cooperated to secure Governor's Proclamation and were at hand when Governor Phil Bredesen proclaimed October 17-23 as National Chemistry Week in Tennessee.
Health care community, SAACS officers and local NCW coordinator were on hand when the Mayor of Martin issued the NCW proclamation.
SAACS from several colleges in the section collaborated for a Demonstrations Program for the October monthly meeting of the section during NCW.
Outreach to different schools with demomania programs were carried out as also school students visited the campuses.
A Free Heath Fair was cosponsored with Community Wellness Center, University Nursing Department, SAACS and of course the section.
The programs reached more than 1500 people and involved more than sixty members and SAACS.
