Dr. Teresa Collard (B.A., M.A., Eastern Illinois University; Ed.D., Union University) teaches public speaking, interpersonal communications, senior seminar, and voice and diction. Dr. Collard holds an earned doctorate in Leadership in Higher Education. Additionally, she has completed 52 doctoral hours in interpersonal communications and rhetoric at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Beyond teaching at UT Martin, Dr. Collard devotes a great deal of time consulting on interpersonal communications and its applications to business and educational environments. Her clients have included ARO-Ingersol Rand Division in Angola, Indiana and Bryan, Ohio. She has also consulted for the Cobb County Education Consortium in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Collard also serves as the faculty advisor to the UT Martin chapter of Women in Communications and serves as the program coordinator of UT Martin's Women's Studies Minor. Dr. Collard is an active member of the Tennessee Communication Association (TCA). She served as the president of TCA in 2010.
