in Banking
Horace and Sara Dunagan
The Horace and Sara Dunagan Chair of Excellence in Banking was established
in 1990 with the support from both the Horace and Sara Dunagan family and
numerous banking institutions throughout the West Tennessee Region. UT
Martin alumnus Horace Dunagan was the chairman of the board of several
banks in southeastern Missouri.
The Chair's mission is to foster interaction between The University
of Tennessee at Martin and the banking community. To accomplish this
mission the Chair:

organizes and sponsors seminars and workshops for area bankers.

gives speeches to civic, social, trade, and professional groups.

prepares students for banking careers through a three-course sequence
of classes.

attends academic and professional conferences/programs.

engages in research and writing for academic and practitioner audiences.
