The Dance Education Program serves students who want to:

- dance professionally
- open or teach in a private dance studio
- pursue a graduate degree in dance

The UTM Dance Education emphasis has recently been listed in a feature article in Pointe Magazine about ballet programs in higher education. The University of Tennessee at Martin is the only college or university listed for the state of Tennessee.
