Education: Two bachelor of science degrees from the University of Tennessee at Martin, Communications with a minor in Music, awarded in 1983; and Geography, awarded in 2005. One master of arts degree in Journalism from the University of Alabama, awarded in 1990. Work Experience: Graduate school teaching assistant, full-time daily newspaper copy editor.
