Profile Paper Assignment

Guest profile:
1. Write a brief (200 – 400 words) profile of a guest speaker. The profile should include basic personal and professional information, leading up to the speaker’s current position.
Personal information can include: name (spelled correctly), birth date, family (married/children), town of birth or hometown, date moved to current town, major community involvement (church, civic clubs, etc.), hobbies, relationship to UTM (alumnus, spouse and/or children attend(ed) UTM, member of an advisory board).
Professional information can include: education (college major and alma mater or high school), current job (correct title), and major jobs prior to current job, responsibilities of current job.
2. Please include a link to the speaker’s web page in your paper, if available.
OR Organization
profile:
1. Write a brief (200-400 words) profile of the speaker’s organization or company. The bio should include the type of organization (profit or non-profit, is it a subsidiary or department of a larger organization, public or private company), a description of the organization (sales or budget, number of employees, age), the organization’s mission statement, key events in the organization’s history.
2. Please include a link to the organization’s web page in your paper, if available.
Instructions for
submitting Guest Profile or Organization Profile papers:
1. Submit the paper as a Microsoft Word attachment to the Profile Paper Assignment on BlackBoard by the due date. Be sure to click on Attach local file and upload the Word document from your computer; do not cut and paste your paper into the comments window.
2. The paper is due by the beginning of the next class after the visit. You will know that your submission was received by the exclamation point in BlackBoard under Tools: My Grades. I will enter a number grade later.
