Good Boss/Bad Boss

This assignment is designed to illustrate the functions of a retail supervisor. You will have the opportunity to share your experiences with a good boss and a bad boss with your classmates.

1. Write a story describing your experience working for your “best boss.”

2. Write a story describing your experience working for your “worst boss.”

3. Type your stories in no more than two pages total, single-spaced. Print out the document and submit it in class. Please do not use real names of bosses. Choose a job that you held in a retail setting if possible; otherwise, any job experience is OK.

4. In addition, post your stories to the class discussion board. You will find the “Good Boss/Bad Boss’ discussion by going to the class page in BlackBoard, clicking on the Communications button on the left, and entering the Discussion area.

5. After your classmates have posted their stories, read them and try to recognize the responsibilities of a retail supervisor, done well and poorly.
