Introduction

Honors General Psychology is offered, by invitation only, to a small number of students with high academic potential, such as The course combines lectures, multimedia presentations, class discussion, e-mail discussion, World Wide Web assignments, and research projects.

This homepage contains links to the schedule of assignments and exams; interactive assignments on the Web; and links to other psychological resources on the Internet. It also provides a means of feedback between you (students) and me (the instructor). You should regard this page as an integral part of the course, and should visit it regularly (at least once a week).

Course Materials and Assignments

Schedule
The course schedule contains a calendar of readings, other assignments, and examination dates. It also provides information about grading and office hours.

Study Guides
Study Guides provide main objectives, key concepts, and important persons in the fields of psychology covered in this course. Exams are designed to cover the content of these Study Guides.

Class Assignments
In-class and out-of-class activities are assigned occasionally. Copies of the class handouts and are reproduced here.

Online Tutorials and Searches
Interactive tutorials on psychological topics will be done online on the World Wide Web. The Web will also be used to search for course-related information. You will have in-class instruction on how to access and use the Web. Each tutorial or search wi ll be assigned for a given week. You will do the tutorial/search and then make a brief report using the feedback option described below.

Feedback

Bulletin Board

After you have completed each tutorial/search, write a brief description of what you did, what you learned from it, and any questions it may have raised. Post your comments to the Honors Psychology Bulletin Board which everyone can view.

E-Mail

You may use e-mail to send me individual comments or questions about the course or anything else you wish to talk about. Such messages are private and will not appear on the class bulletin board. An e-mail form is available by clicking zachry@utm.edu, or you may use your own e-mail account.

Research Project

A research project will be completed during the semester. Students will work singly or in teams to propose a research topic, design and conduct the study, and make oral and written reports on the results. Information related to the pr oject is available below.
