Admission for Incoming First-Year Students
First-year students awarded a Chancellor’s Scholarship and an ACT score of 27 or higher are eligible to apply for admission to the University Scholars Program.
- Priority consideration will be given to complete applications received by 20 January 2027, and applications will continue to be accepted thereafter on a rolling basis. The application includes an information form, résumé, statement of goals, transcript, and contact information for the letter of support.
- Select applicants will be invited to campus to participate in one of two interview days — February 13 and 20 of 2027.
- Following interview days, all applicants will receive notification of status not later than the first week of March.

Admission of Current and Transfer Students
Admission for current students: Students who were awarded a Chancellor’s Scholarship before their matriculation and who have a minimum institutional GPA of 3.4 may apply for admission to the University Scholars Program. With a faculty recommendation, any UT Martin student with an institutional GPA of 3.4 or higher is eligible to apply to the University Scholars Program. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
Admission for transfer students: Students transferring to UT Martin who have been enrolled in or who have completed honors programs at their previous institution are eligible to apply for admission to the University Scholars Program. All transfer students awarded the Elam Promise Transfer Scholarship are also eligible to apply to the University Scholars Program. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
