James S. Corbitt Papers
1899-1994

 

The collection consist of correspondence and photographs from 1926 to 1947 when he was a student at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, taught at the University of Tennessee Junior College, worked in the Civilian Conservation Corp., and conducted military training prior to and following the Second World War. Includes financial and business records from the Humphreys County Telephone Company (1899-1994), the records and correspondence of the City of Martin Bicentennial Commission of Tennessee (1973-1976), the Dresden Sesquicentennial (1975), the Tennessee Conservation Commission (1975-1980), the Northwest Tennessee American Revolution (1936-1938), and the unit history and photographs of the 105th Engineering Battalion of the Tennessee National Guard (1941-190), along with Conservation Plan maps and aerial photographs of Weakley County grave sites.
