Fisheries Science

Learn to promote the health of aquatic ecosystems.

This program emphasizes basic sciences, plant and animal biology, and communications skills to prepare you for the higher education needed to become a fisheries biologist. You will learn about challenges facing fisheries management around the world as well as the social, cultural and ethical issues associated with the field. Students have the opportunity to complete some coursework through the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
