The Plant Science Laboratory and Greenhouse is located next to the Physical Plant Greenhouse on the UTM Teaching and Demonstration Farm. This building has one classroom where plant science classes and labs are taught. This classroom is equipped with chemical resistant instruction table to accommodate various types of labs in plant sciences including plant pathology, turf management, weed science, and plant propagation.
Beyond this classroom, the facility houses a 3,000 sq.ft. greenhouse. The greenhouse is equipped with a hot box for seed germination, irrigation, pad and fan cooling system, ventilation, and heat. Here the students can carry out various lab exercises associated with classes such as horticulture, turf management, and weed science. The greenhouse allows students to conduct experiential learning projects alongside UTM faculty.
The Plant Science Laboratory and Greenhouse also includes various turfgrass and ornamental plant demonstration plots. This includes variety trials as well as plant identification plots for the plant ID courses.
