The Student Recreation Center will be closed beginning May 7th and will reopen on June 1st.

 

According to the most current COVID-19 guidelines for recreational facilities, the following areas in the Student Recreation Center will be closed to all students:

  1. All Racquetball Courts
  2. The Second Floor Classroom
  3. Second Floor Fitness Room
  4. Drinking fountains will be shut down except for the water bottle option.
  5. All leisure/lounge areas will be closed.

The following services in the SRC have been suspended:

  1. Guest privileges (current students will not be allowed to bring guests)
  2. Towel services

The following activities in the SRC have been suspended:

  1. The leisure and team play of basketball, volleyball, soccer, and any other activity where social distancing is not possible.
  2. Leisure recreation games and activities in the lobby

Other guides and provisions for the SRC:

  1. All guest privileges are suspended until further notice. (NO GUESTS ALLOWED)
  2. Limited equipment check-out options are available.
  3. Masks must be worn at all times unless actively working out in specified areas.

Guidelines for Fitness and Activity Areas

  1. Fitness/Weight Room
    • Practice social distancing at all times.
    • Each patron is responsible for cleaning all touch points on their machine of choice prior to and after its use.
    • Masks are required to be worn properly (covering mouth and nose) in the weight room.
  2. Cardio Balcony
    • Each patron is responsible for cleaning all touch points on their machine of choice prior to and after its use.
    • Masks are required to worn properly unless actively working out on a cardio machine.
  3. Walking/Jogging Balcony
    • Patrons should avoid touching the balcony rails, walls, etc.
    • Side by side walking, jogging, or running is prohibited.
    • Slower traffic will remain in the inside lane.
    • The middle lane is closed. Please pass on the right.
    • Masks are required to be worn properly unless actively working out.

The Elam Center

All formal and informal recreation in the Elam Center except for the swimming pool will be suspended until further notice. Patrons will not have access to the arena, the racquetball courts, the fieldhouse, the fieldhouse weight room, and the dance studio for recreational purposes.

 

The Elam Center Pool will be open on a limited basis for UT Martin students, faculty, and staff, who have proper UT Martin identification. Social distancing should be practiced at all times while on the pool deck, while swimming and in the locker rooms.

 

The following pool services have been suspended:

  1. All guest privileges (NO GUESTS ALLOWED)
  2. The diving board/well

Campus Recreation offers programs to the campus community which include intramural sports, aquatics, fitness, leisure recreation, sport clubs and much more.
