Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature (TISL)

The UT Martin Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature (TISL) delegation meets year-round to prepare for its participation in the annual TISL event held every November in the Tennessee State Capitol Building.  TISL consists of (1) the General Assembly, a four-day mock legislature in which participants serve as legislators, lobbyists, or members of the media, and (2) the Appellate Moot Court Collegiate Challenge (AMC3), an intercollegiate moot court competition.  Participation in the UTM TISL delegation is open to students of all academic majors; delegates are chosen via a competitive screening process.  Anyone interested in participating in TISL is encouraged to go to the organization’s site in UTM’s Org Sync or to contact either of the organization's advisors Dr. Chris Baxter (cbaxter@utm.edu) or Dr. Anderson Starling (astarlin@utm.edu).
