Welcome to the Piano Studio at UT Martin. The Department of Music provides a university experience which produces graduates who are successful professionally and personally. Toward that end, the piano studio provides a congenial atmosphere which fosters musical growth through private lessons, ensemble work, accompanying, practice, performance, and pedagogical guidance, etc. In addition to serving piano majors and minors, instruction is also provided through piano classes for the non-piano major.
UT Martin offer exceptional opportunities in piano ensemble performance and maintains a large library of piano duet, duo, and 8-hand music. Ensemble programs are given every semester.
In addition, the studio reaches out to pre-college students through a solo and ensemble competition held every spring and a week-long piano camp held each summer. The studio also maintains close contact with area music organizations--the Martin Area Music Teachers Association, the Tennessee Music Teachers Association, and the Martin Philharmonic Music Guild.
The University of Tennessee at Martin is proud to be an All Steinway School, a status achieved in 2011. All practice rooms, classrooms, studios, and performance venues are equipped with Steinway pianos.
This is an exciting place for pianists to study and perform! Explore our website and learn more about what we do here.
