David H. Cooper 1934-2002
David H. Cooper's psychology teaching career at UT Martin spanned 33 years, from 1969 to 2002. Mr. Cooper completed his undergraduate work at Western Kentucky University and his Master's degree at Murray State University. In 1987, he was awarded the UT Alumni Association Outstanding Teacher Award. Mr. Cooper was dedicated to teaching and assisting all students, but he was especially devoted to nontraditional students. He served as faculty advisor to the nontraditional general studies orientation class (Group 45) for many years. This scholarship serves to honor his dedication to nontraditional students.
Every year two psychology students are awarded the David Cooper Memorial Scholarship of $750. The award is based upon scholarly achievement, and preference is given to nontraditional students.
Congratulations to the 2008 award recipients
