Preferred Name Change

Students can change their name in the university databases by using the form in Banner.  This will not change a legal name and it will not change the name where the law requires a legal name (for example on transcripts).

Once the form has been submitted, the name will be updated within 24 hours.  Students can request a student ID with the new name free of charge once the system updates and by turning in their old ID.

Legal Name Change Resources

The Center periodically hosts workshops to help with the legal name change process.  Contact the Center for the next workshop.

Gender Neutral Bathrooms

A single stall, family bathroom is located on the second floor of Boling University Center and the bathrooms in Ellington, Browning, and Cooper are gender neutral.  Most buildings on campus have at least one such bathroom.  Contact the Center for a list.
