Applicants must submit their application with a letter of recommendation from their Superintendent/Director of Schools. Applications are reviewed and selected by the WestTeach Program Steering Committee. One teacher per school district will be selected with up to 50 members per class. Applicants are to be K-12 teachers who aspire to stay in the classroom, but want to be a leader in their school. They should be nominated by their Principal and the Director/Superintendent of Schools. Selection is also based on leadership achievements and potential to contribute to our region’s education system.
If accepted for the program, tuition for WestTeach is $250. The participant must understand if they are selected by their school system to participate, tuition is to be paid by them or their school system prior to the first session. Upon graduation, each teacher will be given a $150 gift card to be used for their classroom.
