UT Martin athletes compete in team roping during the 51st Annual Spring College Rodeo.

52nd Annual Spring College Rodeo canceled due to COVID-19 concerns

The 52nd installment of the University of Tennessee at Martin Spring College Rodeo has been cancelled, the Skyhawk Athletic Department announced March 17.

It was announced March 16 that all University of Tennessee system universities will continue online-only courses for the remainder of the 2019-20 academic year. On Sunday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended that all large events and mass gatherings of 50 people or more be cancelled or postponed for the next eight weeks because of the COVID-19 threat.

Gold Buckle Seating, the online ticketing service used to manage the ticket sales, will be emailing all ticket buyers and providing detailed information about refunds.

Those who do not want a refund on this year’s tickets will have their money deposited as a donation to the rodeo program.
