The University of Tennessee at Martin Office of University Outreach is offering a series of online ACT prep courses throughout the fall for students preparing for the test.
The ACT Digital One-Stop Success Tactics workshops will teach students test-taking strategies over Zoom in either two two-hour sessions on the first Tuesdays and Thursdays of each month or a four-hour session on select Saturdays. Math and Science Reasoning will be taught on Tuesdays, and English and Reading will be taught on Thursdays.
The four-hour Saturday sessions will cover all subjects on the ACT and will be held from 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Sept. 12 and Oct. 10. The registration fee is $60.
The two-hour sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays will be taught from 5 – 7 p.m. Registration fees for each course cost $30.
- Math and Science Reasoning: Aug. 4; Sept. 1, Oct. 6, Nov. 3 and Dec. 1.
- English and Reading: Aug. 6, Sept. 3, Oct. 8, Nov. 5 and Dec. 3.
University Outreach is also offering the ACT Mastery Classes, which provide expanded, in-depth ACT prep instruction. Students will also be able to take a full practice exam and learn strategies not taught in the success tactics workshop. Each course has a registration fee of $50, but students will receive a $20 discount for registering for all four courses.
All classes are offered from 5 – 7 p.m.

UT Martin adjunct faculty member and author Alex Beene will teach the courses. Beene currently serves as a lead instructor for Tennessee Adult Education in three counties and works primarily with rising high school juniors and seniors needing academic help with standardized testing.
Students are required to have access to a computer with video and audio capabilities in order to connect to Zoom.
