The University of Tennessee at Martin Department of Music is premiering two new programs for the university and community to enjoy for free.
“CulturEd Online” will feature performances by UT Martin faculty, staff and students, including recitals, ensemble performances, masterclasses, as well as popular previously broadcast programs. The “CulturEd Online” performances will be released on the UT Martin Department of Music’s Facebook and YouTube accounts at 8 p.m. CDT on Tuesdays and Thursdays. “Live From the Tent” will host live performances from the tent located near the Pacer Pond parking lot. The concerts will be aired over FM radio, so audiences can enjoy live music from inside their car.
The dates and times for the “Live From the Tent” performances are as follows:
- Sept. 29: Roots of Rhythm, noon
- Oct. 8: Wind Ensemble & New Pacer Singers, 6 p.m.
- Oct. 15: UTM Big Band, Small Jazz Group, 6 p.m.
- Oct. 24: Dessert Evening with UTM Choirs and Small Jazz Group, 5 p.m.
- Nov. 1: Percussion Ensemble Concert Part One, 3 p.m.
- Nov. 5: Concert Band & Wind Ensemble, 6 p.m.
- Nov. 7: Aviators Marching Band “Last Blast” Concert, 3 p.m.

“It’s not quite what we’re used to, but we’ve made music for the first time in five months the past three weeks,” said Dr. Julie Hill, chair of the Department of Music. “We shall see how the students and all of us weather the challenges yet to come, but for three weeks, we’ve made some safe and beautiful music on our campus already, and more is yet to come.”
