WestStar graduate Cary Vaughn receives statewide leadership award

The Tennessee Association of Community Leadership has named Cary Vaughn, of Millington, to receive the TACL Servant Leadership Award. The CEO/president of Love Worth Finding Ministries., Inc., a worldwide radio, TV and internet ministry reaching 196 countries, was recognized for his dedication and service in his community since graduating from Leadership Millington and the University of Tennessee at Martin WestStar Leadership Program.

Vaughn is a longtime TACL member, is a past TACL board chair, and he continues to support TACL through scholarships and other service. He is a WestStar board member and a title sponsor for WestStar’s RisingStar Leadership Summit for high school juniors and seniors.

“The height of effective leadership is a being a servant. TACL is a collective resource of leaders serving and making a difference in their communities and across our great state,” Vaughn said. “It is an honor and privilege to receive the Servant Leadership Award. TACL has always provided me the opportunity to jump in serve.”

Judy Renshaw, TACL executive director, said that leadership-development programs are important to every community, and the annual TACL awards allow the organization to honor outstanding leaders. “We extend our congratulations to Cary who has made a major impact on his community and leadership programs he is involved in,” Renshaw said. “He exemplifies a community trustee/servant leader, investing back to make a positive difference.”

TACL is a statewide association founded by Dr. Bob Smith, UT Martin chancellor emeritus, and is housed at the university’s main campus.
