UT Martin Dance Ensemble to perform spring showcase April 7-8

The University of Tennessee at Martin Department of Visual and Theatre Arts Dance Ensemble will perform the 2022 spring showcase “Mitosis” at 7 p.m., April 7-8, in the Harriet Fulton Theatre located in the Fine Arts Building. Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for students, and children 10 and under are free. Tickets will be sold at the door starting at 6 p.m. on the night of the performance. You can also purchase tickets online at www.utm.edu/departments/finearts/tickets.php beginning Monday, April 4.

The 2022 spring showcase centered around a single theme will feature works choreographed by both UT Martin students and faculty as well as paintings by Lane Last, UT Martin professor of art, which will be projected during each performance. Student choreographers include Marlee Scott, a freshman fine and performing arts major from Thompson’s Station; Damien Hanks, a freshman fine and performing arts major from Brighton; Brittney Lacy, a sophomore health and human performance major from Decaturville; and Jasmine Wilkes, a junior family and consumer sciences major from Bolivar. Sarah McCormick, professor of dance, director of ensemble and coordinator of the K-12 dance education licensure program choreographed three of the showcase’s seven sections.
