A New Authentication Page is Coming Soon!
The UT System authentication page will be getting a new look! Starting August 1st, you will notice an updated design that enhances accessibility, security, and user experience on all UT System services, such as DASH, Office 365, Zoom, and Adobe platforms. Beginning on this date, you will begin to use your full UTM email to login to these services.
To align with the UT System, UT Martin will implement this authentication change on the same date for all UTM services, including Portal, Canvas, and Google. Here's what you can expect:
Fresh New Look: The sign-in page will have a clean design.
New Sign-In Experience: When you visit the landing page, you'll be quickly redirected to Microsoft's authentication site for a seamless login process.
How to Sign In:
Use your UPN as your username. Your UPN is the email address used to sign in to UT services, such as email, typically in this format:
Faculty and Staff: Use NetID@utm.edu
Students: Use NetID@skyhawks.utm.edu or NetID@ut.utm.edu
Password: Your NetID Password
To Sign in with your UT Microsoft account, your device will present this view:
Most Common Applications that will use this new login include: Adobe Creative Cloud, Canvas, DASH, LinkedIn Learning, MyUTM, Qualtrics, Ring Central, Software Distribution Site, VPN, and Zoom.
Acceptable Use Policy
Starting July 15, 2025, UT System Administration will require everyone to annually review and accept the University's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) to maintain access to Microsoft services, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and OneDrive.
What You'll Experience
On Tuesday, July 15, or the next time after that date, when signing into a Microsoft product, you will be prompted to re-authenticate.
You'll be redirected to a Microsoft-hosted page displaying the Acceptable Use Policy.
Review the policy in its entirety and choose Accept at the bottom of the webpage.
After accepting, you may need to relaunch and sign in to access your Microsoft applications.
This new annual process ensures that all users understand, acknowledge, and comply with the University's standards for responsible technology use, while also helping to protect institutional data and systems against unauthorized access.

Vaycay Travel Tips to Avoid Being Hacked
Summer can be a busy season for travel, whether you're heading out on vacation, attending a conference, or conducting research. And just like your suitcase, your internet-connected devices are likely going with you. From airport Wi-Fi to hotel check-ins, staying connected on the go can expose you to cybersecurity risks. Here are some tips to help protect your devices and personal data whether you're traveling for work or pleasure:
Take only take what you'll need. The fewer devices you take, the less opportunities there are for them to be lost, stolen, or attacked.
Update devices before you travel. Be sure to install security patches for your devices and apps before you leave.
Enable device locks. Ensure all your devices are protected using secure PINs, passcodes, and/or biometrics (e.g., FaceID, fingerprints).
Enable encryption. Verify that your devices are encrypted, if possible, to render the contents unusable from external access.
Enable "Find My Device" features. Both Apple and Google have remote tracking tools that allow you to locate, lock, and even wipe lost or stolen devices.
Back up devices. Make sure your devices, documents, photos, etc. are backed up before your trip using either cloud or physical storage.
Check privacy settings. Check and adjust privacy settings for your apps and social media accounts. Lock down who and what can see your location and status.
Be careful what you post. Consider who can see your social media posts and avoid posting activity and location updates while away. Save sharing your trip highlights until after you have returned home.
Avoid public wi-fi. If you must connect to "strange" wi-fi networks temporarily, use a VPN and/or don't access sensitive personal information. Using the personal hotspot feature on your phone is the best option.
Avoid public computers. If you must use them, do not log in to any personal (and especially work-related) accounts.
Keep device secure. Don't leave your devices unattended. Place them in the trunk or out of sight when they must be left in a vehicle.
Review account activity. Keep an eye out for suspicious account activity, including logins and password resets, and unrecognized charges on your payment cards.
Summer Training continues in July. Log in to Runway for more information about the sessions, locations, and time. Contact the ITC if you have questions or need assistance prepping courses for Fall 2025.
