Applicants must submit their application with a letter of recommendation from their Superintendent/Director of Schools. Applications are reviewed and selected by the WestTeach Advisory Board. One teacher per school district will be selected up to 50 members per class. Recruitment begins on March 1, each year, with class beginning in August. Application will be available at that time.

WestTeach Program 2023

Program runs from August – December

Nominations can be sent in an email form to weststar@utm.edu. Please include the following:

Upon graduation, each teacher will be given a $100 gift card sponsored by Leaders Education Foundation to be used for their classroom.

Selection Criteria

Applicants are to be K-12 teachers who aspire to stay in the classroom, but want to be a leader in their school. They should be nominated by their Director/Superintendent of Schools. Selection is also based on leadership achievements and potential to contribute to our region’s education system.

Costs

If accepted for the program, tuition for WestTeach is $250. The participant must understand if they are selected by their school system to participate, tuition is to be paid by them or their school system prior to the first session. Upon graduation, each teacher will be given a $100 gift card to be used for their classroom.
