Dr. J's Cyber Corp.
"Everything for a world in which ‘Everything’ is important"
A Golden Banana Award SiteA Good Place to Start
Welcome to Dr. J’s Cyber Corp. This website is designed for students taking Communications 327, "Public Relations Techniques." This page serves as the doorway to two different worlds. The first will take you to information about the course, descriptions of things you will write or design for this course, and samples of them. I have also included links to real world examples whenever I have found them.
The second door leads to a virtual company, "Cyber Corp." which provides content for you to use in your assignments. Cyber Corp is a virtual company just waiting for a PR Specialist to lend a helping hand. Once inside, you can "surf" and get information on company officers, office locations, projects , and new company products and activities. You will use this information to write biosketches of corporate officers, division directors, and project managers. Information is also provided for Backgrounders and capabilities documents. You will find information about new company products and activities especially useful for news releases and newsletters. You may even find the information and photo files provided for each project and the corporate office handy when you do the Company’s first annual report.
Disclaimer: Although the elements contained in Cyber Corps' project descriptions come from real life, they represent 20 years of field experience all clumped together and resorted. In other words: "Hey people, if you recognize yourself in one of the characters I've described it's not really you, or if you think you've worked on one of these projects, you've been reading to much Dilbert; it just isn't reality--But the assignments are real "
Now, decide where you want to go first. The link on the right will take you into "Cyber Corp," while the link on the left will lead you to an overview of the various assignments and samples of those assignments.
