The Office of Housing has developed a move-out plan for the remainder of the spring 2020 term with consideration for the health and safety of our students and community.

  • Residents are now able to schedule a move out date and time between March 30, 2020, and April 30, 2020 using a link that was sent to their student emails.
  • There will be no more than nine scheduled move-outs allowed per hall per day.
  • You can bring one guest with you to complete the move out to limit the number of people returning to the campus.
  • Check-out instructions will be sent to you upon completion of your move-out date selection.
  • Residents who are suspected to have, confirmed to have, or have been in sustained close proximity to someone suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19, please wait to complete your 14-day self-isolation period before scheduling your move-out appointment.
  • For those who wish to wait until the end of the spring term, we will tentatively have move out weekend on Friday, May 1, 2020, through Sunday, May 3, 2020.

To schedule your move-out date and time, please use the Calendly link that was sent to your student email. Please do not forward your link to other residents, as it may not pertain to their housing assignment.


Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about the move out process. We hope you all are continuing to be safe, and please know this campus is not the same without you all here. We miss all of our students and look forward to having everyone back on campus in the future!

Housing Refund Information

Refund amounts will be calculated on a daily rate of costs between March 13, 2020, and May 1, 2020. The rate is determined by the housing option selected by the student. Students who receive an exemption to remain on campus through the end of the term will not receive a refund for housing fees.


The source of payment, such as institutional scholarships, will be considered in determining the eligibility of refunds. Also, outstanding balances must be satisfied before a refund is issued. The refund amount will be applied to the April payment for students on payment plans.


We encourage students who have not already done so to sign-up for electronic funds transfers (EFT) to receive refunds. The following link is provided to help with the process: http://www.utm.edu/departments/bursar/E-Refunds.php. EFTs can be managed through Banner Self-Service. Students who already have enrolled for EFT should use this time to ensure the current banking information is reflected. EFT is the quickest way to receive refunds. Paper refund checks will only be mailed to the permanent address on file. This address can be updated on Banner Self-Service. Students may view accounts on April 6th for the anticipated refund amount, shown as a credit balance. The refund process will begin on April 6th.
